This caused the mysql server to crash, and a downtime of unknown time while no one was in the office (the people taking care of the server deleted a username that we use so our site wasn't able to connect). Basically, an attack on our ip (that we just got!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, while we're optimistic, we aren't going to say "all's working" since we have bad luck with that phrase. Files that are on the server aren't available to the website, then the site goes down.  Few hours later it's up again, and the cycle repeats (all without any intervention by anyone). And all should be well.... but alas, it caused minor problems (https didn't exist).  Then the web service was restarted so it'd all work.  Mysteriously, some pages "disappeared" (web server didn't see them, but they're there). Now, the entire site says "&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;bad_httpd_conf" as an error....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Supposedly, this will disappear in a few hours as it refreshes everything -- like it's done in the past. type='text'>Site Down -- Manual Decision</title><content type='html'>Currently we have been receving up to 50,000 hits PER DAY by search engines! Unfortunetely, this has maxed out our servers, and taxed our bandwith making the site virtually unavailable to any people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Search engines have also retrieved over 1.5TB of data over the past 24 hours, most of the data being identical.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As an example, about 95% of the visits to our site have been search engines over the past 72 hours, and 99% of the bandwidth used has been allocated to them.
